Natural Face Masks

Depending on your skin type, here are some great masks to try. For oily skin use some plain Milk of Magnesia, rub it on and let dry, then rinse with lukewarm water. It absorbs oil wonderfully!

For Normal/combination skin mix one egg and 1/2 cup cooked instant oatmeal and a teaspoon olive oil until smooth. Spread on your face and leave 15 min then rinse.

Freckles And Age Spots

An old French recipe uses fresh cucumber juice.
Cucumbers are said to be excellent bleaching agents for the skin, and can be used on brown spots. To make a lotion, mix 1 tsp of the cucumber juice with 2 tsps of  water. Apply once in the morning and once at night, letting it dry on the skin.
If there are brown spots on the hands, a saturated  solution of hyposulphite of soda may be used. Use it  freely, it is not always effective.

How to get rid of blackheads

Blackheads are composed of oils, sebum and cellular fragments that produce firm to hard plugs within hair follicles.  Blackheads are open to the skin’s surface and become darkened at the surface by exposure to oxygen (oxidation).  They are called open comedones.  When bacteria are added to these plugs, the condition can lead to acne.
